Three types of office furniture workstations
Choosing the right office furniture layout isn’t as simple as you might think. When space is at a premium and employee satisfaction and comfort is important, compromises usually have to be made. However, this does not always have to be the case. A well-designed office space can provide more than just somewhere for your employees to sit, it can also be functional, aesthetic and yet still user friendly whilst also creating a fun environment in which to work.
The most popular type of office desk in use today is the rectangular office desk. Rectangular desks can be used for a multitude of purposes in the office, from being used as a workstation to being used in part as one section of a larger meeting table. The geometric shape of a rectangular desk means that they can be used with other desks to create any layout you wish.
General left handed and right handed workstations are another popular choice for the work environment. They provide more space for the desk user than a standard rectangular desk and hence add more style and aesthetic feel to the office environment. Remember to plan your office layout carefully before ordering this type of workstation, as you’ll need to order the right number of left and right handed desks to fit.
New style ‘wave’ workstations are a popular alternative to standard rectangular desks and handed desks. The wave format of the desks gives them an aesthetic appeal and yet they don’t take up as much space as a standard handed desk. This desk is perfect for the office that wants to have some style but lacks the space.
Cable management systems can be fitted to most types of office desks so that trailing cables are not strewn under a person’s feet. The management system enables the cables to be neatly kept together, adding to the aesthetic appeal of the office.
If you need more storage space there’s a range of under desk pedestals available to choose from. Under desk pedestals simply slide under your desk and contain a number of drawers where you can store your work.
